Signale celebrates ten years, welcomes new editor

January 20, 2021

Signale celebrated two major milestones in 2020: the 10th anniversary of the first books published in the series and the publication of the 30th book, Forms of Life: Aesthetics and Biopolitics in German Culture by Andreas Gailus. Now, with the start of 2021, the series begins a new phase. Having firmly established Signale as one of the chief venues in North America for book publishing in the field of German Studies, founding editor Peter Uwe Hohendahl announced in December that he would be stepping down as Signale’s editor at the end of the 2020 calendar year. Paul Fleming (German Studies and Comparative Literature, Cornell) succeeds Hohendahl as series editor as of January 1, 2021. The Signale partners are extremely grateful to Peter Hohendahl for his clear vision and unflagging commitment. We look forward to Paul Fleming’s leadership in the years ahead.
